The last time TCU played at Wyoming, the Horned Frogs lost. The last time they were 10-0, they lost. And the 2003 season when they won their first 10 games before losing at Southern Miss and even 2005, when after winning at Oklahoma to start the season they lost at SMU.

Who would have thought that the Big Ten's Rose Bowl bid would be settled before the Maize and Blue clashed with the Scarlet and Grey? And that USC would be out of the Pac-10 picture. That's what we're looking at tomorrow when Ohio State heads over to Ann Arbor, and Oregon and Stanford vie in separate games for the Pac-10 crown.  

1. The Ducks, however, have only two hurdles to clear to win the league , one less than the Wildcats, who are seeking their first trip to Pasadena. The last time Oregon visited Arizona Stadium in 2007, the Ducks were the No. 2 team in the country, but got toppled by the Wildcats, 34-24, in one of that season's biggest upsets (pictured) .  

1. Barring eight turnovers, I think Nebraska beats Kansas State, by seven to 10. I think it goes deep into the fourth quarter, though, and I could see it coming down to KSU driving late and NU having to make a play on defense.  

Cal-Stanford is the only game this week between BCS Top 25 teams, but that doesn't mean there aren't important games elsewhere. In fact, we already had one. The last thing Kirk Ferentz wanted to discuss at his weekly news conference this week was where Iowa will wind up geographically if the Hawkeyes win their next football game. On the list of items Ferentz seemed willing to talk about, bowl scenarios ranked somewhere behind injuries, turnover issues, quarterback dilemmas, his thought process in the final minute against Ohio State and perhaps even the Notre Dame job. EAST LANSING, Mich. The Rose Bowl is out of reach for Penn State and Michigan State. But Saturday's regular-season finale will have a lot to do with determining where both Big Ten teams spend their holidays. No. 13 Penn State (9-2, 5-2 Big Ten) still has a shot at earning an at-large Bowl Championship Series bid, one of several possible postseason scenarios for Joe Paterno's program.

What some thought (mostly Ole Miss and LSU fans) might be a game for the SEC West title has turned into a game for the Capitol One Bowl most likely. LSU has two losses, albeit to the two top teams in the country, and is out of BCS bowl contention despite their lofty ranking. Ole Miss came crashing back to Earth landing in Columbia on a Thursday night in late September.  

It seems like Texas and either Florida or Alabama have been written into the national championship game since August. With three weeks left before the regular season ends and bowl season begins, now is the time those teams will show why they deserved to be glorified. Just look at the slate: On Saturday, No. 3 Texas plays Kansas, No. 2 Alabama plays Chattanooga, and No. 1 Florida plays Florida International.
